A Revived Virginia Home Bursting with Bold Color
We're stepping inside the beautiful, color-filled home of Dana Gibson, a home accessories designer and artist, in Richmond Virginia.
Built in 1912, this Colonial Revival-style gem has been thoughtfully restored by Dana, transforming it into a lively sanctuary of color and creativity. Every room bursts with bold hues, from striking hot pink curtains to an apple-green painted foyer. Her approach to design is effortlessly stylish yet inviting, seamlessly blending cherished family heirlooms—such as portraits painted by her great-grandfather, Charles Dana Gibson—with modern elements.
Dana was intentional about preserving the home’s historic charm, maintaining its stunning original windows and intricate molding while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary perspective. Classic ticking stripes mingle with floral motifs, creating a timeless yet dynamic aesthetic that perfectly reflects her artistic spirit.
