We’re hardly the first to realize it, but Charleston is home to some of the most interesting creatives in the world. Case in point: interior designer, artist, and author Aldous Bertram, who not only lives in central Charleston, but in one of the coolest buildings. The structure itself dates back to 1770, and his specific unit is, he believes, the former ballroom. The unit’s original extravagant paneling complete with elaborate moldings and a fireplace offer the perfect backdrop for Bertram’s maximalist decorating style.
