Our Summer Tablescape Must-Haves

As we continue to tour stunning homes dressed up for summer hosting, we’re inspired to elevate our own entertaining collections and open our doors to friends and family. The best part about decorating for this time of year is that you don’t have to take it too seriously – mix-and-matched patterns, colorful glassware, fun florals, and casual place settings all make sense in the warmer months. And whether you’re looking to host an intimate brunch on the patio, or set a long banquet for a buzzing barbecue, we’ve rounded up our five favorite summer tablescape must-haves.

Puebla Stoneware Dinner Plates

As soon as we saw these ornate dinner plates, we knew we had to have them. Produced in Mexico City and hand-painted, these plates all slightly vary from one another and tinker between relaxed and formal – making them extremely versatile.

Block Print Napkins

Because we’re looking to have fun with our tablescape, we imagine these Mark and Graham block print napkins get the job done. They’re cloth, meaning they still feel sophisticated, yet they feature stripes and florals seem to go well with any other décor.

Madeline Table Runner

Another way to add a touch of cheerful warmth to your table is with a runner – and we found one that goes perfectly with the rest of our setting. Anthropologie’s scalloped and embroidered version comes in a variety of colors, but we have our sights set on the green.

Olive Green Glass Taper Candle Holders

Nothing makes a dinner party feel more inviting and moody then candles. We like to line our tables with several down the center. And staying true to our love of natural colors, we think Crate and Barrel’s sculptural, mid-century modern taper candle holders are the way to go.

Sabre Bamboo 5-Piece Flatware Set

And finally, we’re putting the final touch on our table with this Serena & Lily bamboo flatware. Lightweight, laid back, and neutral, we just know we’ll get so much use out of these.
