I save things. Lots of things. Probably too many things, but I’m a sentimental saver at heart. Handwritten notes (I have an entire bin), all of my kids’ art, matchbooks from special dinners, old photographs, tiny objects I’ve picked up on trips…etc. I keep it all.
What’s more, I’ve always believed that the things we choose to keep tell a story about who we are—and that idea is precisely what inspired the new Homeworthy collaboration with Petite Keep. It almost seemed fateful that we’d release a Trunk whose only purpose is to house our collected treasures in heirloom-quality keepsake Trunks, which is at the heart of what Petite Keep does.
When we designed our Trunk, dubbed The Collected Home, I wanted it to feel like a miniature Homeworthy house: layered, traditional, playful, and filled with things I love. There are Staffordshire dogs, ginger jars, topiaries, stacks of design books, a beautiful chair, and plenty of little details you have to look closely to find. In many ways, these little things are what make a home feel personal.
The Trunk itself is just the beginning. What matters most is what goes inside. My daughter Grace has a small pink Trunk embroidered with her name. Inside, she has a Herend figurine from my mom, a party hat from her first birthday celebration, a small silver jewelry box with a bracelet, and a pink Steiff teddy bear. I’m filling my Trunk with pieces of Homeworthy history; milestones and memories that I will look back on years from now and be happy I saved.
I hope our Trunk inspires you to pull open a drawer, dig through an old box, or look around your own home a little differently. You may already own the most important pieces in your collection. Now, you just need a beautiful place to keep them.
