An Artist’s Eclectic Loft Apartment in Wicker Park, Chicago

Step into the stunning Wicker Park loft of Courtney Shoudis, a multimedia artist and founder of Studio EmmJean.

Courtney and her partner, Ravi, fell in love with the loft’s open floor plan, which offers endless flexibility for their eclectic and art-focused style. After moving from a smaller space, the couple took their time curating and decorating their new home, ensuring that every piece — especially Courtney’s contemporary and abstract artwork — takes center stage.

As a self-described "interior addict," Courtney’s creative journey is evident in the space. Custom lighting fixtures and carefully chosen decor complement the constantly evolving art that fills the loft. The couple embraces the philosophy of truly living with art, allowing new pieces or sculptures to dictate the room’s vibe and layout. In fact, the open layout has inspired Courtney to reimagine the flow of the living and dining areas several times.

Courtney’s background as a visual director in fashion and design shines through, blending bold artistic statements with practical living. Her passion for creating paintings that elevate interiors led her to establish Studio EmmJean, and her unique perspective is showcased throughout the home. Enjoy!
