An Elegant Brunch Celebrating Easter at Hillside Farm

Ruth McKeaney welcomes us back to Hillside Farm as she prepares for a festive Easter brunch, joined by her friend and expert table stylist Lynn Pitts, who brings her signature pieces to create a beautifully styled table. The gathering is a celebration of tradition, friendship, and the beauty of springtime.

In the kitchen, Ruth prepares a mouthwatering spread featuring her famous French toast, served with a bright berry medley, and a hearty sausage and egg casserole that’s always a favorite among guests. The scent alone promises comfort and joy.

Meanwhile, Lynn arrives with a curated collection of entertaining treasures she’s gathered over the past two decades—sparkling silver trays, delicate glass goblets, and timeless accents that elevate the tablescape into something truly magical. Her attention to detail transforms the setting into a visual feast.

The adult table is set in the romantic ruins on the property, where elegant china and layered textures glow against the weathered stone walls, blending refinement with rustic charm. For the children, Ruth and Lynn create a whimsical Peter Rabbit-themed table filled with sweet touches and playful details, sparking delight and imagination.

Together, Ruth and Lynn craft an Easter celebration that honors both beauty and belonging—where every guest feels at home and every detail tells a story.

COME TO THE TABLE: An organization called “Come to the Table” held its inaugural luncheon at Quail Hollow Club, showcasing creative tablescapes by some of Charlotte’s premier designers. The February 6th event raised funds for Beds for Kids, a Charlotte-based charity providing essential furnishings for families in Charlotte and western North Carolina counties affected by Hurricane Helene.
