A Cheerful Texas Home Defined by Pattern and Color
Today on Homeworthy, we’re stepping inside the eclectic and thoughtfully designed home of Katie Kime in Austin, Texas. As an expert in mixing color and pattern, Katie created a warm, layered retreat where personal artwork, eclectic textiles, and bold wallpapers come together in perfect harmony.
Katie approached each room with a distinct personality. Her living room exudes calm with its serene palette and playful printed accents, while her jaw-dropping closet is a showcase of fearless style, complete with banana leaf wallpaper and a curated fashion display. Throughout the home, Katie’s personal artwork is filled with cherished memories and stories. Just steps away, her guest cottage bursts with color and creativity—striped ceilings, painted floors, and a paint-splattered art studio make it a true haven of inspiration.
Katie founded her namesake brand, Katie Kime, right out of college with a mission to redefine modern lifestyle through fashion, home, and textile design. Today, the brand is known for its bold, joyful prints inspired by her travels, experiences, and the world around her.
Her signature city toile collections highlight iconic landmarks, food, and culture from beloved cities around the world. The very first print—Marfa, Texas—is displayed in her guest bathroom, while the New York City toile wraps her guest house in metropolitan charm.
