If there is one person we blindly trust when she offers advice on how to host—especially for a big feast like Thanksgiving, it is the one and only Martha Stewart. Martha is an expert when it comes to pretty much everything style-, food-, and entertaining-wise, but every now and then, she’ll share a tidbit of wisdom that, we’ll be honest, throws us a bit. A couple of years ago, said tidbit was the sheer amount of decorative turkeys decorating her Thanksgiving fête. She proudly admitted on Instagram that she displayed 112 of them throughout the spaces in which she hosted, and let us just say: woah.
The setup is absolutely beautiful and festive, to say the least, but we have to ask: How many decorative turkeys is too many decorative turkeys? According to Martha, the limit does not exist. She writes, “my thanksgiving decorations were basically all about the bird! 112 at last count! glass, wood, gilded, golden, metal, composite , porcelain etc etc fun for kids to count. keeps each busy for at least twenty minutes!” Basically? They were 100% all about the bird, and we see no issue with that.
If you’re hosting this year and want a theme or motif to drive your tabelscape, you can’t go wrong with a turkey. We can already imagine what she’s planning for this year. We’d like to think she’ll repeat the turkey theme because, well, she already has over 100 of them.
Regardless of what the hosting queen has on deck, we will support her Thanksgiving table. Consider us eagerly awaiting the Instagram reveal.
