The Style Bungalow Founder Stephanie Hill’s West Palm Beach, Florida Home

Stephanie Hill is a former ballerina turned fashion blogger based in West Palm Beach who founded The Style Bungalow. She says, “I love embracing the romantic spirit of my Hispanic heritage, the sub-tropical hues of South Florida and bold yet feminine pieces that are classic and timeless.” Stephanie shows us how she and interior designer Danielle Rollins transformed this rental apartment into the most sophisticated and swanky apartment. HOMEWORTHY: How do you describe your interior design style?

STEPHANIE HILL: When it comes to interiors, I like lots of things but tend to gravitate towards timeless design, vintage textiles and prints with a touch of tropical.

HOMEWORTHY: What are your favorite things in your home?

SH: I love my custom breakfast banquette built and designed by Patrick Darczuk. We call it the “Bungalow Banquette” now. I spend many nights here conceptualizing and writing. I also love my pink velvet soft (the tassels get me every time!) by Society Social.

HOMEWORTHY: What item have you splurged on?

SH: I splurged on lots of things but probably spent the most on my curtains from The Shade Store and my custom upholstered bed (with fabric from Schuyler Samperton).

SH: My closet was also a big investment, but a necessity given my job!

HOMEWORTHY: Any sneaky decorating tricks?

SH: Mount the window treatments as high as possible. Had we mounted the window treatments where they traditionally should have been, it would have made my space feel smaller and more crowded, especially given how many windows I have. So naturally, we hung them higher to create an open, cozy and inviting space. By doing this, we made extra room for light to come in, which is ideal because I love all the natural light.

It’s also amazing how much paint can transform a room! Don’t be afraid to pick up a paintbrush, especially in an apartment!

HOMEWORTHY: Go-to hostess gift?

SH: Last year, I attended a holiday party and was so surprised when the hostess gifted each guest with a unique book that she felt best reflected their personalities. I opened up my gift to a classic Chanel book, which I love and have never forgotten. So I would say a book geared towards the hostess’ personality. Some ranging from a coffee table book like Aerin Lauder’s Palm Beach book for Assouline to a classic like The Allure of Chanel by Paul Morand. Then, add a personal note inside the cover to tie it back to your hostess!
