A Dreamy Countryside Estate Layered in Roman and British Inspired Textiles

Block printer Speronella Marsh welcomes us into her sprawling UK estate—a family home layered with her signature fabrics, prints, and a sense of personal history.

This is the house her husband grew up in, filled with memories and stories from generations past. After major renovations to make it more suitable for their family, Speronella discovered her creative path. Wanting to design all the curtains and textiles herself, she taught herself the art of block printing. What began as a money-saving project soon blossomed into a thriving business that now includes wallpapers and textiles celebrated for their timeless beauty.

Inside, the home is a rich tapestry of pattern and texture, with every room showcasing Speronella’s hand at work. Her Roman heritage shines through in the soft, faded colors and timeworn finishes, giving the home a patina of quiet elegance. Outdoors, the gardens are nothing short of enchanting. Overflowing with life and color, they serve not only as a retreat for the family but also as Speronella’s greatest source of inspiration.
