A Story-Filled Edwardian Home in London Filled with Treasures From Around the World
Journalist and foreign correspondent James Longman and his husband, Alex Brannan, take us inside their West London home, an Edwardian house they’ve renovated together. James, who co-hosts ABC News’ What You Need to Know on Disney+, spent years reporting from around the world, and his life and travels are woven into the home, from artwork connected to his Lebanese heritage to antiques he’s brought back from Syria.
Built in the early 1900s, the house mixes rich colors, dramatic marble, silk wallpaper, and antiques with relaxing spaces designed for everyday life. One of James’s favorite pieces is a cabinet he first fell in love with on a trip to Syria when he was 19, then tracked down and brought home years later. Family photographs and artwork add another layer of history, while the garden is filled with roses named after Shakespeare characters and royals.
Alex took the lead on much of the renovation, but the two made the decisions together, finding a balance between a home that looks beautiful and one that feels lived in. Join James and Alex for a look around their London home and the stories behind the things they’ve collected along the way.
