A Traditional Home Built with Historic Charm in Minnesota

We’re stepping inside the beautiful Minnesota home of interior designer Krysta Gibbons of Kipling House, who designed her new-build home to radiate contemporary elegance with the soul of a historic home.

Nestled in a charming historic neighborhood, Krysta designed her family's home from the ground up to blend traditional design, southern charm, European-inspired touches, and a lived-in warmth that makes every space feel timeless. As a lover of old homes, she wanted to create a welcoming home that felt authentic to her St. Paul neighborhood.

From the moment you walk through the door, the entry opens into a showstopping dining room featuring a dazzling floral mural and an unforgettable chandelier. A chef’s kitchen, inspired by Krysta’s travels to Rhode Island and La Mercerie in New York City, pairs a stunning range hood with blue tiled walls and antique finishes. Plus, thoughtful extras like a butler’s pantry, china closet, and separate pantry create the perfect space for effortless entertaining.

Upstairs, each of Krysta’s daughters enjoys a bedroom tailored to her personality, along with a serene lavender-and-green lounge for hanging out with friends.

The home’s charm extends outdoors with a veranda for al fresco dining and a garden shed transformed into a dreamy hangout for her daughters.
