An Artist’s Maximalist Home in the Cornish Countryside

Artist, illustrator, and curator Tabby Booth welcomes us into her colorful home in Cornwall, England, where art, antiques, and collected treasures come together in the most wonderfully unexpected ways. After years of living on a boat with her husband, Tabby moved to Cornwall with her young family, falling in love with a 1970s bungalow overlooking the rolling Cornish hills and the sea. Together, they transformed the house themselves, creating a cozy, maximalist home filled with rich colors, playful patterns, and an ever-growing collection of objects gathered from travels, flea markets, and loved ones.

Throughout the home, Tabby mixes contemporary artwork with vintage finds, quirky curiosities, and meaningful keepsakes, creating spaces that feel deeply personal and full of inspiration. From the family’s cozy sitting room and colorful kitchen to Tabby’s light-filled art studio overlooking the coast, every corner reflects her creative eye and love of collecting. She also shares how her passion for art led her and her husband to open an art gallery in a former 17th-century jail, bringing them back to their own creative practices after years of running an art school. Enjoy!
