Brunch with Babs Opens Doors to The Basket House

Step inside the charming Connecticut cottage of Barbara Costello, better known as Brunch with Babs, the beloved creator with millions of followers and New York Times bestselling author known for making everyday entertaining feel effortless.

Tucked into Silvermine, a picturesque corner of southwestern Connecticut, the 1830s shingle-style house has lived many lives. Originally a blacksmith shop and later a basket shop, the historic cottage still carries traces of its past—now thoughtfully reimagined as a warm and inviting family home.

Babs worked with designer Blair Moore to restore the character of the house while drawing inspiration from its basket-making history. Traditional millwork, lattice details, woven textures, antiques, and layered furnishings give the interiors a distinct sense of place, while the kitchen takes center stage as the heart of the home.
