An English Farmhouse Celebrating the Quiet Romance of Country Life

In the historic village of Sulgrave, interior designer and Studio Faeger founder Victoria Barker is restoring a remarkable 16th-century farmhouse once connected to the estate of George Washington’s ancestors.

Dating to 1540, the former farm cottages have been carefully brought back to life, preserving centuries-old beams, stonework and timeworn character while making room for a new chapter.

Filled with antiques, inherited treasures and the quiet romance of English country life, the home is a natural expression of Victoria’s reverence for history and traditional craftsmanship.
