Inside a Thoughtfully Restored 1939 Texas Bungalow

Interior designer Ali Nolan of Studio Burgoon welcomes us inside her thoughtfully restored 1939 bungalow in Austin’s historic Hyde Park neighborhood—a home that was lovingly lived in for over 50 years before undergoing a transformative, four-year renovation.

What began as a blank slate quickly became a deeply personal project, blending Arts and Crafts influences with Ali’s signature mix of vintage and modern design.

From uncovering original longleaf pine shiplap to reimagining the entire layout for indoor-outdoor living, every detail honors the home’s history while elevating it for modern life. Layered with heirloom pieces, meaningful artwork, and collected finds from travels and Round Top, this home is a true reflection of Ali, proving that when design is personal, it’s always timeless.
