A Former NFL Family’s French Country-Inspired Home in Virginia
Step inside the beautiful Richmond, Virginia home of Tiffany and Tom Compton, where a former NFL family's years of constant relocation finally gave way to a place they could truly call their own.
For more than a decade, Tom's NFL career meant frequent moves and temporary homes. But as his football journey came to an end, Tiffany felt a growing conviction that it was time to pursue a dream of her own. After relocating to Richmond, the couple discovered a French country-style home set on 11 acres and embarked on a complete renovation that would change the course of their lives.
With no prior experience, Tiffany designed and managed the entire renovation in less than four months, transforming the property into a warm, layered home filled with character and personal meaning. Today, the residence reflects both the family's past and future—from a handsome library dedicated to Tom's football memorabilia to romantic blue shutters and a stunning blue La Cornue range that embraces the home's French country charm.
Now the co-founder of Elliott Tate Design, Tiffany shares how this ambitious renovation became the foundation for her thriving interior design career and helped her family put down roots after years of life on the move.
