Inside Nashville’s Historic Cheekwood Estate & Gardens

Join us at the historic Cheekwood Estate & Gardens in Nashville, where Vice President of Gardens Dana Stein offers an insider's tour of one of America's most remarkable public gardens.

Created in the 1920s as the country estate of Leslie and Mabel Cheek, the 100-acre property was envisioned by renowned landscape architect Bryant Fleming, whose design embraced the site's rolling terrain, weaving together sweeping vistas, tranquil water features, and a series of intimate garden rooms. Nearly a century later, that original vision continues to shape the landscape.

Today, Cheekwood is home to thirteen distinct gardens and a nationally recognized arboretum, where native Tennessee plantings flourish alongside collections that celebrate every season. As Dana shares the stories behind the estate's evolution, discover how this historic landscape has become not only a treasured botanical destination but an enduring part of Nashville's cultural fabric.
