A 1902 Train Depot Transformed Into an Art-Filled Home in Georgia

Furniture and lighting designer Brent Warr has transformed a neglected 1902 train depot in Bainbridge, Georgia into a colorful, highly personal home and living gallery.

After discovering the building in serious disrepair, Brent set out to preserve its historic character, restoring original brick walls, massive timber columns, train depot doors, and soaring 18-foot ceilings while giving the space a distinctly contemporary point of view.

Throughout the home, his own furniture and lighting are layered with vintage finds, artwork from the region, pieces made by friends, and treasures collected from travels to places like Paris and London.

From a 19th-century pie safe and 1970s seating to artwork acquired through trades with fellow artists and designers, every piece in this home carries a story.

Brent’s playful approach to furniture-making carries throughout the interiors, where handmade pieces, unexpected materials, bold color, and charming imperfections take precedence over perfection.

The result is an eclectic home that feels part studio, part gallery, and above all, lived-in, with each room reflecting Brent’s belief that a home should make you feel happy, comfortable, and completely yourself.
