A Beautifully Restored Victorian Home in Franklin, Tennessee

We stepped inside Ellen Smith's historic home in Downtown Franklin, Tennessee, brimming with Victorian character and treasured antiques.

Built in 1881 by renowned Tennessee architect Hugh Cathcart Thompson, the Historic Watson House features Second Empire-style architecture, seven fireplaces, original wooden doors and gorgeous garden spaces. Ellen, alongside architect Ridley Wills, lovingly restored the Watson House, thoughtfully preserving its character while preparing it for the generations to come.

Her passion for home design and tablescaping was inspired by her grandmother, who hosted elegant gatherings with china patterns that Ellen now cherishes in her abundant china closet.

Every corner of the Watson House reflects the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of the home filled with heirloom family furniture and meaningful artwork for her family to enjoy.
