A Charming Massachusetts Home Filled With Antiques & Pattern
Meghan welcomes us inside her colorful home on the North Shore of Boston, where traditional design meets bold pattern, collected antiques, and plenty of character. Having grown up in the area, Meghan always dreamed of returning to the town she loved, and when she found this home, she was drawn to its innate charm, original details, and proximity to the ocean. But rather than creating a typical beige-and-white coastal home, she wanted something full of color, personality, and unexpected details.
Meghan discovered designer Sarah Vaile through Instagram, where she was immediately drawn to Sarah’s colorful and distinctive approach to interiors. After reaching out, the two began working together to bring Meghan’s vision to life, with Sarah helping her see the home in a completely new way. Their collaboration resulted in rooms layered with wallpapers, antique furniture, chinoiserie, family heirlooms, artwork, and whimsical collections, all balanced with the classic character of the house.
From the moody lounge and colorful dining room to the cozy screened porch and richly patterned bedrooms, every space reflects Meghan’s love of antiques, art, and entertaining while still feeling comfortable and livable. Throughout the home, original architectural details were thoughtfully preserved while new layers of color and pattern were introduced, creating a home that feels both rooted in its New England setting and distinctly personal. Enjoy!
