A Resort-Style Backyard & Pool in Denton Texas

Content creator Lindsay Stewart takes us into the recently overhauled backyard of her French provincial home in Denton, Texas — a space she and her husband Josh reimagined into what she calls their own little resort they never have to check out of.

The whole yard was rebuilt with a local company, Turf Rocks, who sculpted the existing flagstone into even channels and laid turf all around the pool, complete with countersunk holes for California Umbrella's cheerful yellow umbrellas.

Loungers from Highwood, striped cabana pillows, and green-and-white cushions echo the same iconic Beverly Hills Hotel stripe found on the New York curbside benches Lindsay reupholstered for her foyer.

The showpiece is a gas-or-wood-burning fireplace under a tree that blooms into a shady sanctuary each spring, flanked by boxwoods and grapevine lanterns. The family planted all 15 evergreens along the fence line themselves, plus pink geraniums and petunias that remind Lindsay of her mom's garden.

With three fire pits, an upper terrace with a bird's-eye view, and whole-house audio piped outside, it's a four-season hosting haven — soccer-team parties, milestone birthdays with a DJ, and lazy afternoons floating in the pool.
