A Restored Spanish Colonial Revival Home with Global Treasures
We’re returning to visit the ever-inspiring Darcie Bundy—this time at her breathtaking Spanish Colonial Revival estate nestled in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe, California. Formerly a global executive in the oil and gas industry, Darcie has since channeled her love for travel, culture, and history into a flourishing career in interior design.
Together with her husband, Darcie spent two years restoring this grand 10,500-square-foot estate to its 1920s Montecito-inspired glory. Set on 3.5 acres overflowing with palms, lavender, white roses, lemon groves, and over 3,000 newly planted trees and shrubs, the property feels like a historic California mission reimagined for modern life.
The home itself is a masterclass in architectural craftsmanship, featuring antique Mexican doors, hand-stenciled ceilings, massive reclaimed beams, thick plaster walls, and a dozen fireplaces. Once the pride of the neighborhood, the house had fallen into disrepair—at one point serving as a training site for boxers—but Darcie and Ken served as their own general contractors to bring it back to life.
From the intricately restored Moroccan Room (a former open-air pool house turned vibrant lounge space) to the curated collection of global art and furnishings acquired during their travels, every inch of the home reflects Darcie’s refined, bohemian aesthetic.
