An Artist’s Soulful Family Home in South Carolina

We’re stepping inside the soulful and art-filled home of painter Meredith Walker in Columbia, South Carolina.

Rather than diving into renovations, Meredith and her family chose to live in their beautifully preserved 1962 home, allowing its original charm and history to guide their design choices. The result is a layered, eclectic space filled with meaningful artwork, thrifted finds, cozy textiles, and vibrant color, highlighted by a "chocolate box" guest room and a green, coastal-inspired primary bedroom.

Meredith turned to painting as an outlet while navigating postpartum depression, reconnecting with her love for hands-on creation. Today, her art is a reflection of her daily life and is deeply intertwined with her home, her surroundings, and her children, serving as a practice in her presence.
