Inside a Dallas Designer’s Collected Dressing Room

In his restored 1937 bungalow in Dallas, Texas, interior designer Javier Burkle has turned a former office into a dressing room he considers one of the most important rooms in the house — the place, he says, where he gets inspired for the day ahead.

Today, Homeworthy is stepping inside a self-described maximalist's "organized mess," where clothing arranged by color meets a collection of smoking slippers and babouches, top-hat-shaped Timothy Oulton lights, and deeply personal treasures — his mother's framed Birkin bag, a dressing-room piece from the original downtown Neiman Marcus, and the paint-splattered shoes that capture exactly how he feels after a day of design work.
