Inside a Designer’s Sophisticated Georgia Home

Interior designer and brand consultant Jessica Whitley welcomes us inside her beautifully renovated 1960s home in Athens, Georgia, where layered Southern charm meets refined European influence.

Immediately drawn to the home's original architecture, Jessica approached the renovation as an exercise in balance—blending the soulful richness and warmth of Southern interiors with the tailored elegance of a London townhouse. Thoughtful updates improved the home's flow while honoring its mid-century roots, introducing custom millwork, rich plaster finishes, and carefully collected antiques throughout.

Dark, moody colors set the tone, creating an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and deeply inviting. An eclectic mix of artwork, vintage finds, and meaningful heirlooms adds character at every turn, while subtle tributes to Jessica's grandmother weave a personal story throughout the home.

Designed with family life in mind, the result is a house that feels effortlessly beautiful yet wonderfully lived in—a cozy, layered retreat in the heart of Athens that reflects Jessica's eye for design, love of storytelling, and appreciation for homes that are meant to be enjoyed every day.
