This New York Home & Gardens Are Rooted in Soul and Style
We’re heading to Rhinebeck, New York, to visit the stunning home and gardens of interior designer and artist Stefania Skrabak.
Located on a historic property once owned by John Jacob Astor IV, this house strikes a beautiful balance between sleek, contemporary design and character-filled charm. Stefania has brought the space to life with vibrant artwork she’s collected over the years and playful vintage pieces sourced from all over New York State—adding depth, warmth, and personality to its modern bones.
The open-concept first floor is airy and inviting, perfect for her large family and frequent gatherings. Upstairs, each bedroom has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the personality of its occupant. Outside, the lush grounds feature a peaceful swimming pond, flourishing vegetable and flower gardens, a greenhouse, and even two pigs and a flock of family birds.
With its lively mix of children, adults, cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, and fish, this home is more than just stylish—it’s a joyful, sophisticated space where fun and family come first.
