A Collected Brentwood Home With Classic Style and Personal History
Interiors photographer Karyn Millet welcomes us into her Brentwood, California, home, a 1954 house loved for its traditional architecture and connection to the former estate of Hollywood star Rita Hayworth.
Working with longtime friend and interior designer Joe Lucas, Karyn reimagined the interiors with layered patterns, colorful fabrics, distinctive furnishings and art collected through years of travel and friendships in the design world.
From a wallpapered dining room and a blue-filled living room to a versatile office and a terrace where Karyn and her husband exchanged vows, the house balances classic design with practical spaces for entertaining and everyday life.
"It's pretty special to live in a house where you also exchanged your vows," Millet said. "I can sit in my office with a Dutch door open and look up at that terrace and remember that day, and I do that pretty often."
