A Designer’s Colorful DC Row House

Step inside the vibrant Washington, D.C., row home of interior designer and author Annie Elliott, where every room bursts with color and personality.

The 1910 Wardman row house tells her family’s story in a rainbow of hues—from a lively green entryway leading to a playful pink living room, to a floral blue dining room and a kitchen with an unforgettable red backsplash.

Over the years, this family home evolved alongside Annie’s family, blending joyful design with lived-in warmth. The cheerful home holds a bright mix of contemporary pieces, antiques and heirlooms.

Annie recently released her first book, “My Neighbor Saw Me Naked and Other Reasons You Need Drapes,” a sharp and practical guide to the questions she’s most often asked as a designer.
