David Netto’s Amagansett Beach House
We’re on the eastern tip of Long Island’s idyllic shores, visiting writer, interior designer, and design pundit David Netto at his Amagansett beach house.
When David first discovered this property, he knew he was buying the land—nestled right up against the ocean—rather than the home itself, which at the time was in less than ideal condition. But after a thoughtful reimagining and extensive renovation, David has transformed the space into his dream home.
Inspired by film, automobile design, and architecture, David has created an environment that feels both intentional and effortless. Throughout the home, you’ll find nautical motifs—model boats, rope-wrapped poles—alongside pops of yellow to ward off any sense of formality. Stacks upon stacks of books add a lived-in charm. Upstairs, the primary bedroom offers panoramic views of the sea and surrounding landscape, and the perfect escape to take in the sounds of the ocean.
David’s home is a true reflection of himself: sophisticated, playful, and effortlessly cool.
