Inside a Historic Pennsylvania Garden Shaped by Generations of Gardeners with Ruth McKeaney
Join Ruth McKeaney as she visits her friend Heather’s historic garden in Pennsylvania, where centuries of history have shaped a truly remarkable landscape. Once part of a land grant from Billy Penn to William Wood, the property was later home to one of Chester County’s most modern dairy farms. Over the years, the gardens continued to evolve, from formal rose gardens and terraces to a more naturalistic landscape shaped by renowned landscape designer and architect Sally Wood. Today, the grounds are a beautiful blend of history, thoughtful design, and native plantings—and have even been featured by the Smithsonian. Come along with Ruth for a look inside this extraordinary garden and discover the stories that have shaped it over generations.
