This Morocco Home Is a Masterclass in Maximalist Interiors

We’re stepping inside the dazzling, color-soaked home of designer Nicolò Castellini Baldissera and writer Christopher Garis—co-founders of Casa Tosca—in the enchanting city of Tangier.

Perched at the northeastern tip of Africa, this lush home is a maximalist masterpiece, blending heirlooms from Nicolò’s storied lineage with whimsical rattan pieces designed for Casa Tosca, named in honor of his great-great-grandfather Giacomo Puccini’s legendary opera Tosca.

As a partner at the luxury textile house C&C Milano (co-founded by Nicolò’s father), Nicolò brings an extraordinary talent for mixing color, pattern, and texture with ease. The home is a celebration of reinvention—vintage textiles are thoughtfully repurposed, and old materials find new life in unexpected ways.

Design treasures abound, from a faux-malachite clock once owned by iconic designer Tony Duquette to a curated collection of art and furniture sourced from flea markets in Morocco and Paris.

From the custom hand-painted mural at the entrance by Pictalab to the rooftop terrace overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, this home is a sumptuous feast for the eyes.
