Traditional Elegance Meets Coastal Living in This Florida Home
Interior designer Kendall Dennis and her family envisioned a home that would bring the feeling of their favorite destinations into everyday life. In Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, they created a courtyard-style residence centered on a pool, with French doors and expansive windows connecting nearly every room to the outdoors.
Kendall, principal designer of Kendall Dennis Interiors, describes her aesthetic as “new age traditional,” pairing classical architecture, symmetry and traditional millwork with modern furnishings, natural materials and a relaxed coastal sensibility.
“We want it to emulate how you feel when you're outside, when you're at the beach, a space that feels relaxed but fresh, refined," Dennis said.
The interiors balance elegance with the practical needs of a busy family. A sage-green scullery, a light-filled living room, and an upstairs family den with courtyard views offer distinct spaces for cozy gatherings. Just beyond the courtyard, a separate cottage serves as her design studio, giving her team a dedicated place to work and meet with clients.
Throughout the home, Kendall layers antiques, artwork and meaningful family pieces, creating a collected feel without sacrificing comfort.
