Interior designer Susan Shand and her daughter, Ryan, welcome us into Susan’s warm and eclectic home in Santa Barbara, California.

The mother-daughter duo, who also work together as co-owners and co-designers of Shand Design, share the story behind the home and the many collected pieces that give it its charm and character.

Once a neglected property, the house was rebuilt from the ground up and designed around its spectacular ocean views. Today, it’s a gathering place for Susan’s family, filled with cozy rooms, music, books, antiques, artwork, and treasures collected from around the world.
