For over fifteen years, Drake has cochaired the showhouse, and this year he turns his attention to the rear garden, creating a tranquil space devoted to reflection, art, and balance.

Guided by the idea that we all need places to pause and breathe, Drake designed a garden that feels both modern and meditative. Sculptural works take center stage — including a striking 1960s Richard Filipowski bronze-and-silver piece from Hostler Burrows — while 1970s-inspired teak-and-rope lounge chairs and a vibrant Reinaldo Sanguino ceramic table invite quiet conversation.

Every detail speaks to Drake’s belief that art shouldn’t be confined to the indoors. This is an urban oasis where design, sculpture, and nature coexist, offering a moment of calm in the heart of New York City.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York City is an annual design event where top interior designers transform a luxury Manhattan residence into a stunning showcase of creativity. Founded in 1973, it serves as the signature fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, with all proceeds supporting after-school and enrichment programs for thousands of children in the Bronx and beyond.
