For Akilah Releford Gould, home is where two coasts meet. A Los Angeles native with a husband from Cape Cod, Akilah—a serial entrepreneur and lifestyle creator—has spent the past four years transforming their Colonial-style home into a warm, colorful reflection of their shared influences, blending the relaxed spirit of the West Coast with the timeless charm of the East.

The house had beautiful bones from the start; Akilah simply saw an opportunity to bring them to life. Throughout the interiors, classic architecture is layered with expressive color, pattern, and a mix of pieces inspired by Martha’s Vineyard and summers on the Cape. She describes her aesthetic as “coastal granddaughter meets grand millennial,” a playful interpretation of traditional style that feels both collected and distinctly her own.

A natural entertainer, Akilah’s approach to home is also rooted in hospitality. Raised in a Southern family, she grew up with the idea that gathering—whether around a beautifully set table or with friends and family at home—is one of life’s great pleasures.

Today, Akilah is the founder of Mary Louise Cosmetics and Lucky Girl Rosé, as well as CEO of Wedding Chicks. Step inside her colorful Colonial home to see how she brings together tradition, personality, and a love of entertaining.
