Inside Salt Lake City’s Historic Pumpkin House

We’re in Salt Lake City, Utah — visiting Jessica Archibald’s remarkable historic home that, each fall, transforms into something straight out of a storybook.

Lovingly known as The Pumpkin House, this 1900s home is listed on the National Historic Register — covered in 248 pumpkins carefully placed across its porch, railings, and garden. Inside, every detail tells a tale — from historic details to stained glass windows that cast rainbows through every room.

Original hardwood floors and intricate woodwork blend seamlessly with carefully chosen antiques — each piece echoing the home’s past, like a European fireplace mantel that fits like it was meant to be here all along.

In the kitchen, antique copper accents meet a centuries-old butcher block island, adding warmth and history to a space rebuilt from scratch. Meanwhile, hand-painted wallpaper and original wood trim bring timeless charm to even the smallest bathroom.

But what really makes this home come alive is its vibrant fall tradition — one that draws the entire community together.

Outside, a towering pumpkin display transforms the house into the beloved ‘Pumpkin House,’ while inside, the warm, earthy décor creates a cozy, witchy atmosphere that’s perfect for the season. Enjoy!
