This Magical Tucson Adobe Is a Masterclass in Small-Space Living

Step inside a stunning 1800s adobe home in Tucson, Arizona, beautifully restored by photographer Logan Havens and architect Gustavo Silva.

Once a collapsing structure hidden beneath later additions and tarps, the home has been carefully brought back to life—largely through Logan’s hands-on, DIY restoration work.

Behind layers of drywall, original adobe walls and wood beams were rediscovered, revealing the home’s historic Sonoran character. From there, Logan spent months stripping it back to its core, hand-plastering walls, reopening spaces, and rebuilding room by room using salvaged materials and traditional techniques.

The result is a deeply personal 720-square-foot home that blends historic architecture with thoughtful contemporary design: a stainless steel kitchen, minimalist tiled bathroom, solar-powered systems, native desert landscaping, and meaningful pieces collected from friends and local makers in Tucson.

More than a renovation, this is a story of preservation, craftsmanship, and community—proof that even forgotten homes can be transformed with vision, care, and extraordinary dedication.
