A Collected La Jolla Home Filled With Art

Artist and interior designer Lori Brunner welcomes us inside her light-filled La Jolla home, an elevated beach house designed around her love of art, sculpture, and collected pieces.

After searching for the right Southern California home, Lori and her family found this home in 2022, drawn to its strong architecture, natural light, and views toward the pool. Rather than undertaking a major renovation, they lived in the house first, allowing the art to guide the direction of the interiors.

Throughout the home, Lori’s own paintings and surfboard artworks are displayed alongside pieces by artists she has collected over the years, sculptures discovered at shows in Colorado, antiques, vintage finds, and artwork passed down from her parents. Neutral furnishings and durable materials create a calm backdrop, allowing the artwork, color, texture, and sculptural pieces to take center stage. Enjoy!
