Vintage Vibes
An Art Gallery Owner’s Colorful & Collected Home
Art gallery owner Liz Lidgett shares her home in Des Moines, Iowa, where she’s spent the past five years updating a 100-year-old house.
The home combines original character with simple updates, including painted cabinetry, added wallpaper, and a mix of vintage and secondhand furniture. Liz follows an “80/20” approach—mostly thrifted or handmade pieces, with a smaller portion of new items.
Throughout the home, art plays a central role. Pieces from artists she works with are displayed not just on walls, but on shelves and throughout different spaces. Each room reflects a balance between function and personal style, from a library created out of a pass-through room to a kitchen designed for everyday family use. Enjoy!
